With a focus on Unreal Engine 5 and Minecraft, I am a professional video game developer and modder, and I also serve as the Founder and CTO of Streavent Studios.

About me

My name is David López.I was born in Valladolid, Spain, on August 10th, 2002.At the age of three, I started using a computer, and since then, my life changed drastically. From a very young age, I've always been interested in the world of computers, and I've been learning a lot of things on my own.When I was eight years old, I moved to Colombia due to my dual nationality. At the age of 12, I was recruited by Microsoft for an internal program that gathers the best students in the country. Through this program, I learned about robotics, programming logic, project management, and gave several conferences in institutions on how to start in the world of computers and programming.At the age of thirteen, I started developing small games and tinkering with Linux servers, as well as programming languages, creating small applications and game servers.By the age of fifteen, I produced my first successful project called AtlanticGamers. It was a Minecraft network based on the Spigot API and Linux servers, reaching 50,000 registrations.At seventeen, I immersed myself in eSports projects, founding the competitive team Move Or Die and playing semi-professional Valorant on various teams. Additionally, I worked as a project manager and software developer for major content creators like Mikecrack, ElTrollino, among many others.At the age of 21, I returned to Spain and specialized officially with Epic Games in video game development using Unreal Engine and C++, aiming to become a pioneer in creating interactive games and virtual environments focused on content creators.

PRESENT:

At the age of 22, I have founded a video game development company focused on modding for content creators, such as YouTubers, working with the top Minecraft creators worldwide. The company, called Streavent Studios, was co-founded with my partner Sparta356. It has experienced tremendous growth, and I now work exclusively as the CTO.

I have always been very interested in the world of programming and video games. Curious and constantly questioning how games were developed, I not only enjoyed playing them but wanted to create them myself.At the age of 12, I was recruited and officially certified by Microsoft for an internal program that gathers a select few of the best students in the country called Microsoft Student Partners. I was the only one representing educational institutions from the entire country. Since always, virtual experiences have fascinated me. I've been particularly curious about their creation process. Its graphic and development capabilities are impressive. That's why I decided to formally train and certify myself through Epic Games at UT-HUB, where I've learned to master the engine expertly.

AtlanticGamers was a network developed and managed by iDavidXx (GatoDev).This network stood out for its own game modes created by the founder himself. The most notable was the HSURVIVAL mode, which was a survival game with rules different from those of the original Minecraft, such as gravity changes and new gameplay rules that made the gameplay much more challenging and innovative throughout its development.

Lucky Blocks RTX is a game made in the Unreal Engine for Windows. It's a recreation of the Minecraft mini-game "Lucky Blocks," focused entirely on that concept, with events and an interesting ending.

Description:

Pervus, a wicked warrior aspiring to become emperor, dies during a tournament where he aimed to prove himself worthy of the title. For some reason, his soul transfers into the body of a young orphan girl named Eira.Now inhabiting a new form, Pervus must navigate this unfamiliar situation with the guidance of Ayiyi, an elf who becomes our companion, offering valuable advice throughout the adventure. Pervus, now in Eira's body, is driven to return to Imperia to uncover the mystery surrounding his own body's fate.As you progress through different zones, unravel our protagonist's backstory, overcome traps, defeat enemies, and explore every corner of the realms. Level up, enhance your skills with various weapons, utilize all your abilities, study enemy movements, dodge attacks, defend yourself — all in the quest to unravel the circumstances that led to this unexpected transformation.

My role:

My main responsibility in the development of the video game was to create the main character (Pervus/Eira), who has different abilities, animations, and bars such as health and stamina. I also designed and implemented the camera system, which adapts to the environment and action, the inventory, which allows the player to manage their resources and equip the collectible items found in the world, and one type of enemy (spider). Additionally, I supervised the gameplay and game feel, reviewing levels, controls, difficulty, music, and sound effects to ensure a fun and smooth gaming experience.Below, I list the systems developed by me:

  • Locomotion: Horizontal movement, jumping, dashing, crouching, and swinging.

  • State Machine: Animation swapping based on gameplay.

  • Bars: Health and stamina system, which is consumed according to player actions. Automatic recovery over time or by potion.

  • Weight: Player slow down (movement speed, animations, and sound) according to the weapon and/or armor equipped.

  • Attacks: Two attack systems, light and heavy, plus cover. Development of attacks with swords and bows.

  • Combo System: Interleaved damage according to player speed and hit variations.

  • Camera Tracking: Tool that allows player camera control according to environmental limits.

  • Inventory: Equipment, automatic swapping, activation, dropping items, stacking, maximum items, unique item, etc.

  • Collectible (Item): Collection, classification, datatables.

  • Projectiles: Wall detection, pickup, and damage.
